Emotional NAS Jacksonville homecoming. Family photographer Ponte Vedra Florida
Such a heartwarming NAS Jacksonville homecoming! If something moves my heart I won’t deny it and won’t say a NO.
I got the phone call from this amazing woman asking if I would capture homecoming of her deployed husband. I was driving at that moment, I said yes.
In the past I have been acquired to do those sessions, but in the end they turned into a family shoot at other time, or I felt like other photographer might be a better fit.
You know? It’s all because I thought: What do I know about a military life?
But this time, her husband was away, she carried well being of her family on her shoulders, she knew the feeling of loneliness even though she has a strength beyond all.
I know those feelings.
You know what it is about being a photographer driven by emotions in your work? It’s all about absorbing it all, the weak, the happy, heartbreaking, powerful… all human feelings. No matter where, in what setting, a background. I believe photography it’s helping me to put the guard down, because I know now that power doesn’t have to be build behind brick walls, but by noticing everything we are made of. Capturing other families makes this so much more obvious.
To see this family rejoining again after such a long wait and to sacrifice so much for each other it’s eye opening. Once again. All I can say is Thank You!
For letting me to witness all your love, for your service, for all your difficult days when you feel like giving up, for thinking to document his homecoming and for considering me as your family photographer and at the end… thank you for helping me to grow to be even even better person, and not only a better artist.
