“When Charlie-Gene was 4 weeks old we found out she had Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a genetic lung disease that effects the lungs and digestive system. We had no idea what the disease was and no one in our families had it either. We’re so thankful that her new born screening picked up on it or who knows when we would have found out.. Charlie has to take medications daily as well as do chest therapy with her vest twice a day. It’s truly inspiring to watch an 18 month old fight this disease every single day. The average age right now for someone with CF to live is 40 years old, but with technology and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation our prayer is that she will live MUCH longer than that.”
